Off to Lacrosse Conditioning!

And this guy skipped school today and claims he had the best day ever on the slopes!

Glad I didn't get my third call of the season to meet him at the ER! 

(broken nose, broken thumb…both false alarms, thankfully)

It has been a rough homework week for this guy!  End of the month seems to creep up on him as poems and book reports are due.  Add that to his spelling test and regular homework and it makes for a long stressful night.  I think he was up until after 11:30, crazy how much they do at this age!

I have had a lot of fun teaching the 5th grade JA BizTown program on Wednesdays!

Today I interviewed the students for their BizTown jobs!  A cute student took this picture of us giving an example of the handshake before their interviews! Tried to teach the importance of eye-contact which looks like she forgot.

After last week's FHE lesson on Moses, today we watched all three hours & forty minutes of "The Ten Commandments" with Charlton Heston.  A movie I watched and loved when I was young.

 Before bed we had a quick family Wii night...

 …except for this guy who had too much homework. Procrastinator :)

Indoor Lacrosse Games!

 I tried so hard to only shoot in manual.  This was the best one…again so much to learn.

I decided to post it anyway to compare to my future pictures.

Their last week of ski school.

The bus picked them up at school, drove them to the resort, they took a 2 1/2 hour ski lesson, and then were brought back to the school.  Great program…not so great picture.  

They were soooo embarrassed that I was taking pictures, this was the best one.

On her way to Grand Junction (from Arizona) she was informed that she was not needed until next week.  So…we are excited to get her for 24 hours until she heads back to Arizona.

P.S. Found out last night that he made the varsity lacrosse team!

Maybe that's why he's in such a good mood! So happy for him, has definitely put in the hours.

My new lens came in the mail yesterday!!!!!

I am so excited!  My kit lens was not capable of the aperture I wanted (blurry background), and I have been wanting a new one since I bought my camera.  I was happy to find out that this lens was actually affordable!  I will probably post more pictures today… but these are two of my favorite for now.

(I might have to post a lot of pictures of her, I couldn't convince M to pose for me for anything!)

Yesterday Z man's strep culture came back negative.

Back to the Dr. today and his new blood work shows he definitely has an infection.

He has had a very sore throat, fever, body aches, and nausea.  

It hurt to drink his smoothie, hope the antibiotics kick in quickly!

Another day shooting in manual.  I practiced on B girl's messy room!

If her bed is made, does that qualify as a clean room?

                                After school I used her as my subject to practice light.
This journey is going to be more difficult than I expected, but I am eager to learn!

Side Note:  This is the second day I have shot in manual mode! Not great at all but I am determined not to go back to the AUTO button again! I'm even taking an online course in February,  clickitupanotch.com has been super helpful until then!  I also ordered a new lens that I think will make a huge difference!

When this guy asked me how to post a picture on my instagram I should have been suspicious…cause this is what he posted!  My first thought was "oh no you don't!" then I saw the picture and have been smiling ever since.  This is the cutest thing ever!

He even saved this picture as my phone screensaver.

Thanks to Brock, it became a family ski day!

Alta's ski after 3 was a big hit!

It was B girl's first time skiing today and she did amazing!  She had the best attitude and laughed every time she fell (which was only 50 times). 

Hope we go again soon!

Earmuffs & A Missing Tooth!

All she really wanted for Christmas was earmuffs!  She received two pair (one from mom and these from Santa)  and she wears them A LOT! She also lost her tooth that has been wiggly for months!  Mom yanked it out at The Jett's basketball game.  Showed everyone she has ever met.  An exciting day!

Actually we drove the long 11 hours home, but I loved this picture of them playing lacrosse on the beach with the surfer in the background.  Missing the sun already.

After a hard day of lacrosse, we enjoyed some local pizza and a walk on the beach.

While we were on our walk, I suggested asking someone to take a picture of all of us.  No one liked my idea so Jim tried taking it of all of us.  I love the view of the beach in the background!  So funny and actually pretty cute!

After this I did ask someone to take our picture, but I love this one more!
