We enjoyed a yummy breakfast on the beach, sat in our cabana until 1:30 then showered, checked out and headed to the airport. We arrived home at 8:30 p.m. to some very happy children! I feel very blessed to take little breaks like this then come home to the life I really live for!
Well while catching up on my reading, homework, and assignments for my class. I could work like this everyday! ;) "Yes...please bring me another Pina Colada, and may I look at your lunch menu please".
Zack sent us a picture of the snow in Utah so Jim sent him this picture of me relaxing in the pool!
Today we rented a car with another couple from Vivint and drove to Chichen Itza. Visiting Chichen Itza has been on my bucket list so I jumped at the chance. It did not disappoint! This was an amazing civilization and a lot bigger than I imagined. We ran into another couple from Vivint so the 6 of us hired a personal tour guide and toured the grounds with his "Mayan decent" knowledge.
After Chichen Itza we drove to a beach called Akumal and our friends snorkeled. They were able to swim with 8-10 turtles and saw a lot of other marine life. Jim and I were both worn out and enjoyed just resting in the shade.
Next we drove to Playa de Carmen and met up with Becca and Sam for a light dinner, yummy nachos. It was so fun to see them and I wished we could have stayed longer and I really wish we would have thought to take a photo with them...geesh!!!!
We made it! A fun vacation for Jim and I to Cancun, part of Jim's work. We arrived around 5:00 p.m. just before sunset. So excited for some relaxing time.
I forgot to snap a picture on our campus tour so when I picked up Zack we illegally parked and took a quick picture of the famous Drexel Dragon. It was pouring rain! We then attempted to attend sacrament meeting at the Single's Ward but the chapel was empty. A kind lady from the family ward informed us that it had been cancelled. I asked "do they usually cancel church when it rains?" I guess it was more than rain. It was freezing rain and there had been a 60 car pile up earlier in the day.
So we headed back to the Liberty Bell so Zack could see it.
The Minneapolis airport is super hip and high tech. Every seat had an iPad in the entire area. We ordered dinner from our iPads and surfed the internet. Fun fun!
While Zack hung out with the team, Brynn and I toured Old Town Philadelphia. Including the Liberty Bell, Independence Hall, and Ben Franklin. In the afternoon we met Zack and took a tour of Drexel and then ate dinner with the coaches and a couple of players. It was a great day but soooo freezing! Especially with a lot of walking.
