2015 forty-nine

Blake has been working hard this year and tonight he earned his Bear!
It was the Blue and Gold Banquet and they had yummy dutch oven breakfast casserole, pancakes, and fruit (I was so glad it wasn't hot dogs or mac and cheese).
They also had a special visitor tell about the beginning of scouting, the founder Robert Powell.  The kids loved his accent and the stories he told.

A tradition in this pack is when they earn their Wolf or Bear, they have to go in the tent for a "Bear Attack".  Which was Jim who growled and messed up his hair.  The boys love it!
 Congrats Bud...on to Weeblos!
My photography subject for the day (SOOC).
Assignment #1 Metering for proper exposure
My feedback was mostly positive.

Week 10 - The FPG-9

This is the Model FPG-9 airplane.  These boys are attending a merit badge fair next weekend and had to pass off making this model for their aviation merit badge.  They had a great time in the backyard with all kinds of competitions.  Best landing, coolest flight, best turns, longest flight, etc.  After I took several pictures, they decided to paint them black.  Now they look really cool!

two hundred sixty-eight

After another shutout in football and great plays for both, these boys jumped right into their service hours for scouting with the International Coastal Cleanup project.  Almost four hours of tallying every piece of trash. Total trash picked up - 11 pounds. Wow!

This challenging job didn't come without joking with and teasing the younger helpers.  It was a hot day, but we did it!

two hundred twenty-seven

After perseverance and determination, Z Man earned 9 merit badges at tonight's Court of Honor. I would say he had a successful summer.
